mo'to'-si'ko´sis

It is through our own human addiction that we take part in activities that make us feel something different than we're used to. By positioning ourselves within the comfort of discomfort and the repetition of change, whether it's designed or coincidence, we find the experiences that remind us of the reasons why we're here. This is an exploration into the mental phenomena of the human experience. Please explore the ARCHIVES at the bottom of this page. kclickenger@c-jr.com

Sometimes

Many times I'm dumbfounded by the marvels of modern machinery. Other times I'm compelled by the convenience of technology. Sometimes I'm enthralled by maps, stories and dreams of adventure & outfitting myself with all the right gear. Sometimes I'm impressed by my own skill, passionate about the wonders of human nature and still others I'm disgusted and depressed by the current state of the modern world, capitalism, and indulgent consumerism.
Sometimes, time just stands still for a minute and Mother Nature reminds me that none of it really matters much.. And more often than not, when that feelings strikes, it's as a result of my purposeful positioning within the excitement and unfamiliarity of adventure. But sometimes it happens in the front yard, and whatever the circumstances, it's always welcome.

Wow that is stunning. I love those realizations about the power of nature and stuff. It always makes me think how thankful I am for our technological advances. If we didn't have the technology we now have we wouldn't be able take a picture of the event, e-mail it to others, or call them and tell them to quick run outside and check this out.
