mo'to'-si'ko´sis

It is through our own human addiction that we take part in activities that make us feel something different than we're used to. By positioning ourselves within the comfort of discomfort and the repetition of change, whether it's designed or coincidence, we find the experiences that remind us of the reasons why we're here. This is an exploration into the mental phenomena of the human experience. Please explore the ARCHIVES at the bottom of this page. kclickenger@c-jr.com

santa returns to the great white north..

I'm not sure what happened to santa in the previous post.. sometimes he shows, sometimes not so much.
Either way, he has returned his chubby butt to the great white north anyways, but not before spreading some love down here among all us sinners. Hope he was good to you all!

In other news, well, there's other news.. but I'm going to reserve my temptation to let the cat out of the bag to those not in the know, and let a few tricklings of blog posts eventually tell the tale.. stay tuned for a couple of glimpses into the beginnings of yet another adventure!

This one's going to have me traveling on more than two wheels, but there's still several thousand miles in my immediate future! YEeee HAaawww!

Dude.

So, apparently, the other people of the world like myself who happen to be fans of "The Big Lebowski" are a fairly prolific crowd, given the amount of time they must have on their hands as a result of being unemployed and superlatively lazy. This is the second funniest thing I've ever seen.

Oh, and just in case you're not quite sure, here's Ten signs you might be a dude.

Zen and the Art..

Of following directions.. or should I say, re-enactment?

Ryan, author of my favorite, typically-not-motorcycle-oriented blog, r3tr0.net, found someone who put together turn by turn directions to follow the route taken in the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

If you haven't read the book, you probably ought to, but don't feel bad about incomprehension or skipping pages, or even whole chapters for that matter. In my opinion, anyone who claims to have a complete comprehension of the book is lying through their teeth. I think I have made at least 3 or 4 attempts at it to only minimal avail.

These directions, though, reminded me of a project I'd like to undertake one of these days.. to follow the route taken by Chris Mccandless in the book (and real life) "Into the Wild". He travels all over the US, into Mexico, Canada, and eventually to his final resting place, bus 142, outside of Fairbanks, AK.
