XR Mania!
Alright alright.. enough with the suspense.. here it is..
It's a 94 Honda XR600R
I peeled the graphics off the tank and like the clean look MUCH better..

It's still in the dirt trim since I need a new front supermoto tire.. uh, did I say supermoto? Uh huh.. sure did!.. This is only the preliminary unveiling.. you'll have to wait a few days to see it as the transformer supermotocon!
I only got to ride it a couple hours around town today, but first impressions are: "holy shit, that's a lot of bike!".. It fits me to a t.. seat height is probably 36" (the tallest I've ever ridden), and foot peg position is right on. I'm sitting so high, I feel like I'm in Matthew's old jeep- looking over all the traffic.

I've heard people in the dirt bike world say that even 450cc is a lot of [dirt] bike, and not to mention a 600.. and not to mention this one, which has a true HRC (Honda racing) cam in it.. I haven't even begun to explore how far the throttle will twist.. frankly that thought scares me!
It was idling pretty high once it got warmed up, and it felt like the throttle was hanging.. so as I rode I thought about these characteristics and when I've experienced them before.. Then it hit me.. it was acting exactly like an air leak in the fuel/carburetor system.. So I nursed it along trying to keep the rpms down at lights, and when I finally got home & took a quick glance at the carb, sure enough, it was obvious that the last time the carb was off, it didn't get pushed all the way back into the intake.. loosen clamp-pop it in-tighten clamp-fixed. Another spin around the block a few times and it was idling normally.. It does seem a little finicky.. either that or I just don't have the correct idle set yet, or it's just really cold blooded.. If it doesn't warm up enough and you take off down the street, it'll stall out sitting at a light.. Once it's warm, though- no problemo.. I'll just have to pay attention to how it acts during my commute for the next couple days & figure out what the deal is..

shhhh!.. that's the TT plate! :D
